Sexual Violence Prevention Network

About

The Sexual Violence Prevention Network (SVPN) is a formal coalition of key community stakeholders in Laredo, Webb County, Texas, that uses the evidence-informed Close to Home approach to community organizing and network leadership development to reduce the incidence of sexual assault. Close to Home encompasses 4 phases, including 1) Assess, 2) Talk, 3) Build, and 4) Act, that the SVPN uses to implement activities that support social norms change to reach adolescents and young adults(ages 13-24) and adult influencers. A special emphasis is placed on working with local college and university students and staff to reduce the incidence of sexual assault on campus.
